God is good- all the Time.

It was great to see many of you at the TAA Convention in Sugarland.  We want to thank John Sisk for his special contribution at the prayer Breakfast and Memorial Service.  John’s songs and ministry were a blessing to all.

It seems like as soon as we finished the TAA Convention, it was time to go to Nashville.  I decided to drive and went to Florida, North & South Carolina, & Georgia on my way to Nashville.

In South Carolina, the crops were very poor due to no rainfall.  People in Atlanta said they have water rationing in effect. In Tennessee and Northern Mississippi, crops were behind in growth due to too much rain and the farmers couldn’t get in to plant them.

Here in Texas, farmers and ranchers in North Texas had adequate rainfall while in South Texas many crops will not be harvested.  There were farmers near Hillsboro who planted cotton the first week in June and it still hasn’t come up.  Virgil Warren, an auctioneer who also works as a crop adjuster, told me they have had numerous claims on cotton in West Texas.

Should we worry about these things? Does it benefit us to worry about fuel prices or the economy?  God has been good to all of us. He has blessed us with a profession where we can prosper regardless of the economy.  Yes, God is good, all the time.

Where Do We Place Our Trust?

I was in Oklahoma for a farm equipment auction and noticed the sign, "Burn Ban for all of Oklahoma."  I knew that Texas was under a burn ban because of the drought, but friends I have in Missouri and Arkansas told me they are under drought conditions also.

Where is there not a drought?  In South Louisiana where the hurricane hit, the pastures and fields are green.  They have had adequate rain fall.

All of us in agriculture know we are dependant on God for our crops and livestock.  As my Dad tells customers, "It will rain when God decides to send it."  God has blessed all of us, but we still need to approach him through prayer with our praises and needs.  Please pray for rain for those who are in these drought areas.

If you know of any auctioneers who have suffered losses because of the fires, please let me know.  We are here for any auctioneers and their families if they need any assistance.

"If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them: Then I will give you rain in due season and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit."

Leviticus 26:3,4

Subject: Good Morning!

If you woke up this morning

with more health than illness,

you are more blessed than the million who won’t survive the week.

 If you have never experienced

the danger of battle,

the loneliness of imprisonment,

the agony of torture or

the pangs of starvation,

you are ahead of 20 million people around the world.

If you attend a church meeting

without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death,

you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,

clothes on your back,

a roof over your head and a place to sleep,

you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet,

and spare change in a dish someplace,

you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,

you are very rare, especially in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face

and are truly thankful,

you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them

or even touch them on the shoulder,

you are blessed because you can offer God’s healing touch.

If you can read this message,

you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world

that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.
