Greetings Texas Auctioneers and Associates!
Wow, what an amazing convention we had at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock! It was so wonderful to see each of you and all your beautiful families in attendance.
For those who do not know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Angie Meier and I am thrilled to be the President of this great Association for the 2021-2022 term. I attended my first convention in 2001 and started on the board of directors in 2013. I served two three year terms and then climbed the executive ladder. It has been my pleasure serving this association. I work fulltime as an contract auto auctioneer and I also sell real estate and conduct benefit auctions. I married my husband, Craig Meier, in 2001. We have four beautiful children (Loralyn, Rody, Riley and Levi) and make our home outside of Ennis. The majority of the time I have spent on the Board of Directors, I have been a part of the speaker and contest committees.
Unfortunately, we have all had to adapt to a new normal in the past year. COVID has disrupted our lives and businesses. The industry we all love so much have been forever changed. COVID was a catalyst that shifted all dynamics of our industry. The struggles it has presented has forced all of us to change our ways of old. … but THE TAA is here FOR YOU! We are here to support you and to help you navigate these changing times together.
We have the most amazing Association in the country!
We are admired and imitated at a national level, showing every association in the country how to lead their associations, retain members and build their contests. WE ARE LEADERS!
But with all that said, it all comes down to you, our members. Each of you are the heart and soul that keeps this train on the tracks.
My goal this year is to hear more from you. This association can not work to our fullest potential if the heart doesn’t respond. This board wants your involvement and input. The directors and executive board need to know how to better serve you and have you participate if you feel the desire to do so.
I have been a part of this association and coming to conventions for 20 years. Of course, I have learned so much from the education that the TAA has provided, but the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS have been the networking, the friendships made and the family we have become.
I look forward to serving as your president this year.
Our next convention will be held June 2022, Father’s Day Weekend, at the Embassy Suites in Frisco, TX. SEE YOU THERE!
